《巴别塔学院》在2022年出版后便在纽约时报畅销书榜上位居榜首。 [3][4]而Booklist[5]和Kirkus Reviews均表达对其的赞赏。 [6] Booklist称这部小说“引人入胜”且“描绘丰富” [5] ，而Kirkus Reviews则则表示它“雄心勃勃、有力，同时表现出对语言和文学的热爱”，他进一步称其为“对西方帝国主义严厉的批评以及被迫与体制和平相处时，生存、反击的同情”。[6]
